D-Zolve™ 15-33R Aircraft Depainter
D-Zolve™ 15-33R is a new breed of aircraft paint stripper. This water borne system efficiently removes several layers of aircraft paints consisting of epoxy primer with cross-linked polyurethane top coats including MIL P23377 Epoxy or TTP 2760 Flexible Polyurethane and MIL C85285 Polyurethane topcoat, Fluid Resistant BMS 10-11-V Type 1, BMS 10-60-H, BMS 10-7-9 and Desothane 6221T. It also removes topcoats with high solid content fluoride and other high solid content polyurethanes.
Superior Performance
D-Zolve fully conforms to Boeing D6-17487M and to T.O. 1-1-8 including sandwich corrosion tests, immersion corrosion tests, hydrogen embrittlement tests and more. It is U.S. Air Force approved and conforms to Federal Specification TT-R - 2918. D-Zolve can be safely used with aluminum, magnesium, stainless steel, carbon steel, cadmium coated steel, and titanium. This product contains no peroxides and is non-acidic.
D-Zolve 15-33R breaks the bond between the substrate and the primer. Once this bond is broken, a secondary action causes the paint to lift away from the substrate as a single film, primer and top coat. D-Zolve stays and keeps moist for 48 hours.
Easy to Use
To maximize efficiency and reduce waste, D-Zolve 15-33R exhibits a long active life and slow rate of evaporation. It displays excellent clinging properties on vertical surfaces and the undersides of wings and fuselage.
D-Zolve can be easily sprayed using an airless spraying system. To reduce overspray, a non-atomizing tip is recommended. D-Zolve can also be applied with a brush and smoothed out with a plastic spatula.
Once the paint has lifted, it can be removed with a rubber squeegee or high pressure water. The stripped surface can be rinsed with water. Paint lifting can be accelerated by elevating the surface temperature to 85°F/29°C.
D-Zolve 15-33IM is available for tank immersion stripping. The IM version should be heated to 120°F-140°F.
Reduces Health and Environmental Risks
Designed to minimize health and environmental risks, D-Zolve 15-33R is non-carcinogenic, non-flammable, non-acidic, and contains no chlorinated components. It has minimal or no hazardous air pollution potential.
D-Zolve 15-33R and IM are designed to serve as a high performance, safe replacement for methylene chloride that does not structurally degrade aircraft metals.
FAA recommends that most non-metallic materials such as tires, electrical insulation, canopies, fiber reinforced composite materials, some sealants, synthetic rubber parts, and acrylic plastics be protected against possible contact with any paint remover.
