History of Solvent Kleene
Organized in 1989, Solvent Kleene began operations in January 1990 initially focused on solvent recovery systems.
In 1991, Solvent Kleene initiated an intense research and development program developing environmentally preferred, high performance solvent-based degreasers which are void of chlorinated, flammable or peroxide components. In 1993, the effort yeilded a range of non-HAP, safe degreasers.
Solvent Kleene has experienced a very positive market acceptance of D-Greeze 500. After extensive testing at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, D-Greeze 500 was found to outperform 111 trichloroethane and 55 other safe alternatives. In September 1994, Solvent Kleene introduced D-Greeze 500 Low Odor which was extensively tested by United Technologies - Pratt & Whitney. D-Greeze 500 was subsequently approved for use worldwide in all Pratt & Whitney plants for its vendors and engine customers (e.g. commercial airlines and service centers).
