D-Zolve 338 for Anilox Roll Cleaning

  • Dissolves Dry Ink Buildup
  • Restores Cells Original Volume
  • Outperforms Conventional Cleaners
  • Non Alkaline
  • Non Corrosive
  • Non Flammable
  • Meeting customer's needs requires a consistent and predictable ink volume transfer to a substrate. Accurate ink volume transfer is particularly important in fine process printing when multiple colors are used. To minimize color corrections, the volume of ink has to be predictable.

While laser engraved ceramic Anilox rolls are considered to have 7 times better wear resistance than chrome rolls, which allows a longer printing consistency, it is harder to clean and remove the dry ink from its cells. Since water-based inks contain cross-linking additives, when the ink dries it is even more difficult to remove it.

While several cleaners are available on the market, most do not remove all the dry ink which reduces the Anilox cell's volume. D-Zolve 338 is different. It dissolves the dry ink build up and restores the cell's original volume.

D-Zolve 338 can be used to remove water-based inks as well as solvent-based inks. It can be used for either on, or off, press cleaning. Cleaning with D-Zolve 338 on a regular basis can eliminate major cleanings as well as eliminate the need for ultrasonic cleaning, soda blasting, ice blasting and other cleanings.

    Cleaning Made Easier
Apply a generous amount of D-Zolve 338 covering the entire surface of the roll while the roll is turning. The idle motor can accomplish this. Equally useful is filling the pan with D-Zolve 338 and letting the roll run and pick up the cleaner. Allow several minutes for D-Zolve 338 to penetrate and dissolve the ink. Brushing with a nylon brush will facilitate the cleaning. Wipe the roll with a lint-free rag. Repeat the application and wipe off until no ink traces are showing on the rag. For removal of cleaner residue and drying, the roll can be wiped with an alcohol (Isopropyl) soaked rag. D-Zolve 338 can also be used to remove varnishes, adhesives, paints and a variety of coatings, cured or uncured.

    Compatibility
D-Zolve 338 is compatible with ceramic and all ferrous and non-ferrous metals including: Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Magnesium, Copper and many others. While compatible with HDPE, Polypropylene and Nylon, it is not compatible with rubber and should not be used on rubber rolls or rubber plates.

    A Safe Workplace
Good local ventilation is always recommended. To protect eyes from splashing, goggle are recommended as well as gloves. For further safety information, please consult the MSDS.

    Minimizes Health and Safety Hazards
D-Zolve 338 is designed to minimize health and safety hazards. It contains no halogens and no CFCs. It is non-ozone depleting. A slow evaporator, it presents minimal air polluting potential.
